What?

A first treatment appointment always begins with a brief medical history being taken. This is to ascertain that there are no obvious contraindications to you receiving soft tissue therapy and you will be asked to sign that, to the best of your knowledge, you are in general good health.

Client and therapist then chat through what you are hoping to achieve from your visits whether that may be easing from aches and pains, a localized problem or knocking minutes off your marathon PB?!

Massage is a manual therapy using oils and you will be requested to remove appropriate items of outer clothing. You are always welcome to bring a chaperone with you to appointments if you wish.

Postural observations will be noted or a more thorough assessment if necessary before treatment proper begins. True Sports and Remedial massage incorporates a wide range of techniques including myofascial release, deep tissue work, muscle energy techniques, neuromuscular trigger pointing and passive/active stretching exercises. The contemporary title, ‘Soft Tissue Therapy’ reflects this broad spectrum. The work will always be adapted to suit the individual’s needs. The better the communication and cooperation between client and therapist, the more successful the outcomes.

Various suggestions of suitable stretches, exercises or lifestyle adjustments will often be discussed and encouraged in order to help you to get the most value from each session.

Detailed treatment notes are kept to monitor your progress and confidentiality between client and therapist is an absolute priority at all times.
